Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Started in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level domain is the only one supposed to be for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are famous by. At the beginning, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to reserve john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased 3rd-level domains remained active.

Through our firm, you can purchase your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will be able to update the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer key from the current registration service provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no special regulations on who can grab a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the objective behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.

The .NAME universal TLD is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no added cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the proper spelling in your local language.
